המחברים מתארים מערכת מסתור מסועפת שנתגלתה ותועדה על ידיהם באתר חורבת סיע. לצד תיאור המערכת מביאים המחברים הצעה חדשה להתווית גבולו הדרומי של פלך עקרבה בימי בית השני ובימי מרד בר-כוכבא
