Abstract
לא פעם מתוארת המלחמה בשיח הדתי העכשווי כדבר נשגב ונעלה, ומיוחסת לה קד וּשה. אולם קול דומיננטי במסורת היהודית סבור שלא רק שאין קדושה בשדה הקרב, אלא שישנה סתירה בין מלחמה ובין נוכחות אלוהית. מקורות אלו מדגישים את המחיר הדתי והמוסרי של שפיכות הדמים שהמלחמה מחוללת.
