הסופה שפקדה את מצרים, תוניס, לוב, תימן ושאר ארצות ערב, הוכיחה שהסיכסוך הישראלי-ערבי אינו עוד במרכז סדר היום האיזורי; אירגוני הטרור כמו "אל-קאעידה" ו"חיזבאללה" נותנים כיום את הטון במקום המדינות; ארה"ב והקהילה הבינלאומית מתקשות לתת מענה הולם.
