Abstract
In recent years, an increasing number of organizational development consultants are entering schools to help improve processes, especially in cases of low - performing schools, known in Israel as “red schools” . Despite extensive literature on the topic, the route towards effective involvement of organizational consulting are still unclear . Thisstudy presents a collaborative consulting model developed by a school principal and an organizational consultant, employing a design - based research method . The process took place in a low - performing school, defined as a “red school”, and achieved its goals after two years of collaborative consulting . The findings of the entering and contracting phases attest to the importance of collaboration, a principal - centered approach, and restructuring organizational routines for the continuity and success of the consulting process . Theoretical and practical implications are discussed .
