Abstract
המאמר בודק את ההתפתחות הכלכלית ואת ההבדלים בין התקופה הרומית בפרובינקיית פלשתינה לתקופה הביזנטית. לדעת המחבר לא היה הבדל גדול בענפי הייצור, אך בתקופה הביזנטית נוצר קיטוב כלכלי גדול בין שכבות האוכלוסיה. ההבדל העיקרי הוא שהמשק בתקופה הרומית היה מכוון כלפי פנים, ואילו הכלכלה הביזנטית הייתה יותר פתוחה ומכוונת ייצוא.
