החל מאמצע שנות החמישים החלה עלייה המונית מתוניסיה וממרוקו, ורובה נקלטה בפריפריה הישראלית - במושבי העולים ובעיירות. למה הועברו יוצאי צפון אפריקה דווקא לאזורים אלה? גזענות? חלוציות? התשובה כנראה מורכבת יותר. (מתוך המאמר)
