Abstract
המאמר מתאר את עוצמת התחרות של האדם עם הטבע שהתפתחה עם התבססות החקלאות ועם העלייה בצפיפות הדמוגרפית בתקופות ההיסטוריות. בסיס הנתונים הארכוזואולוגי של ארץ ישראל ובו מידע מכ-700 דוחות ארכאו-זואולוגיים שהתפרסמו, משמש לזיהוי ולאיפיון גלי ההכחדה של חיות הבר, ולזיהוי זמן כניסתן של חיות הבית בישראל.
