המאמר בא לבחון מחדש את ההתיישבות בסיבות פלשת, ובעיקר באתרים שבצפון-מערב הנגב כדוגמת קובור אל-וולאיידה,תל אל-פארעה הדרומי, תל הרור, תל ציפור, ה"חצרים" בנגב, ורבים אחרים.
