המאמר עוסק במרחב המקודש היהודי, בתקופת המשנה והתלמוד, מרחב שהיה מגוון מאוד ושילב תחומים שונים: מיתי וריאלי, עכשווי והיסטורי. המאמר אף דן בהתייחסות לגבולות ארץ ישראל בהקשר לכך.
