Research interests

Prof. Liebersohn was born in Israel. He studied at Bar-Ilan University General and Jewish Philosophy and Classical Studies and got his B.A with Distinction (1992). His M.A. (1997) was written under Prof. John Glucker's supervision and proposed a new method for reading Seneca's Dialogues by analyzing De Constantia Sapientis. His Ph.D. (2002), also written under Prof. John Glucker's supervision, titled "The Dispute concerning Rhetoric in Hellenistic Thought, and its Background" (with Highest Distinction) tries to reconstruct the dispute between the Hellenistic Schools, especially the Academics versus Stoics, during the second and first centuries B.C. about the question "Is Rhetoric an art?" Nowadays Prof. Liebersohn is busy mainly with Plato's dialogues (Gorgias and Crito), and Epicurus' philosophy. So far Prof. Liebersohn have published 3 books and more than 20 papers.
