Prof. Yonatan Goshen-Gottstein’s lab investigates episodic memory. He has studied the retrieval dynamics of free recall, the recency effect as a signature of short-term memory, and the mechanisms that underlie recognition memory, using the signal-detection theory (SDT) framework. In recent years, using both simulations and empirical data, he has focused on difficulties in measuring recognition memory and on finding easily-applicable remedies for this precarious situation.
