Shirley Ben Shlomo Ph.D - Head of the Clinical Practice Program

I am engaged in both research and practice in therapeutic work with children, young people and families, as well as in the way that the media shapes the public perceptions of these subjects. The first field of research grew from my hands-on experience as a social worker with parents and children, and specifically with parents and children in distress. The second field of research was born out of my background and my interest in the media, as well as the understanding that many social workers find it difficult to adopt skills of working with the media into their interventional tools.

Research:

1. Developmental transitions in family life.

2. Parenting and parents-children Relations.

3. Puberty, adolescents.

4. Media coverage of topics related to the treatment of children and youth.
