Research interests

Ron Unger is a full professor in the Mina & Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Science in Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He earned his Ph.D. at the department of Computer Science in the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1990, and spent a post-doctoral period at the University of Maryland. His research interests are in the interface between computer science and biology, namely in the fields of bioinformatics and computational biology. Prof. Unger is the founder and the head of the computational biology program in Bar-Ilan University, and is involved with several national committees to advance Bioinformatics in Israel. Prof. Unger was the president of the Israel Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (ISBCB). His publication list contains more than 75 scientific papers, two textbooks and several book chapters.
