Research interests
I am a scholar of popular music and music in film, drawing on methodologies from (and training in) the fields of historical musicology, ethnomusicology, and cultural studies. My research is focused on studying the interplay of the aesthetic and the political (broadly conceived), through hermeneutic or poietic studies of musical works, and through socio-historical studies of musical production, consumption and everyday musical practices.
