Personal profile

Research interests

During my BA studies at the History of Art Department, at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia (nowadays Serbia), I tried through my choice of seminar topics and BA thesis to pursue my growing interest in Jewish culture, history and visual art. Since there was no Jewish Studies Department, much of my work was done individually. In order to gain professional support, I continued my MA studies at the Hochschule fur J?dische Studien in Heidelberg, Germany. A year later I matriculated at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, going on to earn MA and PhD degrees. I had long taken an active role in the Jewish Communities in Zagreb and Belgrade, in then-Socialist Yugoslavia; in 1983 I made aliya, and later married and built a family in Jerusalem.
