Research interests
I am a Associate Professor at the department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology, Bar Ilan University. My Ph. D. thesis is from the department of geography at the Hebrew University, examined the development of tourism infrastructure in Jerusalem during the British rule (1917-1948). I conducted post-doctoral research at the department of geography, York University, Toronto, Canada (2001-2002). My main research interests are historical-geography of tourism and pilgrimage, tourism in historical towns, holy places and the development of seaside resorts in the modern time. Recently I am dealing with the reshape of the Western Wall after the Six-Day war and the relationship between Zionism and the sea.
