Research interests

Itsik Bergel received the B.Sc. in electrical engineering and the B.Sc. in physics from Ben Gurion University, in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Tel Aviv, in 2000 and 2005 respectively. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Senior Researcher at INTEL Communications Research Lab. In 2004 he received the Yitzhak and Chaya Weinstein study award. In 2005, he was a Postdoctoral researcher at the Dipartimento di Elettronica of Politecnico di Torino, Italy, working on the capacity of non-coherent channels. He is currently a faculty member in the faculty of engineering at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat-Gan, Israel. Dr. Bergel served as an Associate Editor in the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing between 2015 and 2017, and an Associate Editor in the IEEE Transactions on wireless communications since 2017.
