Scientific specializations

  • Since 2003, Itamar Drori was a research assistant, researcher and editor in the Encyclopedia of the Jewish Story project: in this framework I am involved in writing entries, locating sources, deciphering manuscripts and locating rare patterns and rare writings. The fourth volume of the encyclopedia is currently in preparation.
  • The study of the historiography of the new Hebrew literature has occupied me since I wrote my doctorate on the prose of Haim Hazez (1971) until today. In this framework I teach and publish articles.
  • In the years 1971-1973, I assisted Prof. Avidov Lipsker (the editor, annotator, and writer of the introduction) in the scientific editing and annotations for Yitzhak Lamdan's journal, KI Ganzim (Ms. Cod 196\13456). The work on the journal was awarded a research grant from the National Academy The critical edition of the journal was accepted for publication by Bar Ilan University Press in October 2013, and is currently being prepared for printing.
  • The study of the story of the Jews of the East in the Jewish languages (Hebrew, Arabic-Jewish) in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries - including the mapping of the stories from prints and manuscripts and tracing the ways in which they establish a cultural consciousness.
