Research interests
Isaac Hershkowitz is a lecturer in the Department of Jewish Philosophy at Bar-Ilan University and the academic advisor for undergraduate students. Both his thesis and dissertation dealt with various aspects of Religious and Theological Responses to the Holocaust. His research fields and interests are Modern Jewish Philosophy, Religious Responses to the Holocaust, Orthodoxy and Religious-Zionism. His studies specifically focus on the philosophical merits of rabbinic literature and Halakha. He also serves as Rabbi of Netzach Shlomo Congregation, Petach-Tikvah.
Research Areas
I am engaged in researching the philosophical aspects of rabbinic literature in the modern era, among other things in the philosophy of Halacha, in understanding the conceptual foundations of religious Zionism, and in rabbinical responses to the Holocaust.
Also, I research the halachic and conceptual teachings of the Rambam.
