Currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Population Economics, Associate Editor for e-economics and on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Open Political Science Journal.

Research Fellow at IZA (Bonn) as well as at CreAM (London) and a Fellow, Centro Studi Luca ;Agliano (Milano). He received his doctorate in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University. He then spent 2.5 years at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the Department of Economics at Bar Ilan University. He has won a number of prestigious grants. Epstein has published widely, with over 100 publications on political economy, public choice, labor economics, migration and public policy in leading academic journals. His book, Endogenous Public Policy and Contests (with Nitzan, Springer) integrates politicians decision making with that of interest groups. He also edited with Ira N. Gang a volume on Migration and Culture (Emerald) and a special issue on this topic for Review of International Economics.
