Prof. Gil Goobes completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry in Tel Aviv University in 1993. He received both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the department of Chemical Physics at the Weizmann Institute of Science working with Professor Shimon Vega. Through his graduate work he developed pulse techniques in solid state NMR for various applications.
Prof. Gil Goobes held a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Washington during the period 2002-2007 working with Professor Gary Drobny and Professor Patrick Stayton on deriving the molecular structure of proteins bound to tooth enamel surface, dynamics of DNA molecules and binding of peptides to gold nanoparticles.
Since 2008 he is a member of the chemistry department faculty and the nanotechnology center for advanced materials. He is involved in both teaching and research in physical chemistry of heterogeneous biological systems and advanced materials.
