Biography B.A. at the University of Toronto in Jewish Studies and Political Science (1986, high distinction); PhD at Harvard University (1993, distinction). Department of Near Eastern Studies at the University of Toronto as a Post-Doctoral Fellow (1993), a Research Associate at the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies (1994-95) on a fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and Lady Davis/Yad Hanadiv Fellow at The Hebrew University in Jerusalem (1996). Full-time positions: Assistant Professor, Religious Studies, Stanford University (1997-1999), then as now ranked among the top few universities in the world. Assistant, Associate, Full Professor, Humanities, York University (Toronto) (1999-2012). Associate Professor, Department of Bible, Bar-Ilan University (2012-2019).Current: Full Professor, Department of Bible, Bar-Ilan University.
