Personal profile

Research interests

I am a clinical and medical psychologist and a researcher in the fields of gerontology and psychology of music. In the field of aging I'm studying the connections and relationships between ageist perceptions, anxieties regarding aging and death, and both younger and older adults' self-perceptions. Additional aspect of my research concerning aging relates to anxieties regarding the final stages of life, and to stressors and traumas of older adults. In the field of music my research focuses on the psychological aspects of music along the lifespan (e.g., emotion regulation through music, the effect of music on intergroup relations, problem music). As a clinical psychologist, I'm also interested in studying health care providers' attitudes toward suicidal patients.

Research:

  1. Gerontology & Life Span Psychology (Ageism, Attachment, Death and Age Perceptions).
  2. Psychology of music (social psychology of music, music and emotions).
  3. Psychopathology (a cognitive perspective).
  4. Suicide
