Personal profile

Research interests

I am a professor at the Interdisciplinary Department of Social Sciences in Bar-Ilan University, Israel, and a licensed clinical psychologist. In my research, I focus on how older adults cope with the aging and dying processes, especially after exposure to adverse and traumatic events and their intergenerational transmission. In my works, I examine the effects of the aging and dying processes on health, using both objective (chronological age and years to death) and subjective (subjective age and subjective nearness to death) indices of development.

Research:

  1. Intergenerational transmission of trauma: Holocaust survivors, second and third generation
  2. Trauma and aging
  3. Subjective perceptions of aging
