Dr. Adam Zaidel was born in South Africa 1977, and made Aliya in 1996. He completed his BSc. in electrical engineering (Tel Aviv University) and his MSc and PhD in computational neuroscience (The Hebrew University, Jerusalem). In 2014 Zaidel returned to Israel, after a 4-year postdoc in the USA, to take a faculty position (Senior lecturer) in the Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center at Bar Ilan University. Zaidel's research is directed towards understanding how the brain simultaneously processes, filters and combines information from multiple sources, to achieve perception, decision making and behavior. This includes studying perception in the normal brain as well as disorders, such as autism and neurodegenerative diseases. Zaidel has authored many publications in leading journals, and was named one of Israel's 40 under 40 in 2015 by the Israeli business magazine The Marker.
